1200 10th
September 1813
The surrender
of 1st Austrian corps presented General Wrede with a problem.
The broken
Austrian brigades were spread over a wide area, and would require rounding up
and then escorting to Munich as prisoners.
On the other
hand he could hear the sound of battle from the directing of Withering.
His two
divisons were running low on supplies, and a move to the south to support 8th
corps at Withering ran the risk of 1st Austrian corps regrouping and
posing a renewed threat to Rohrbach.
He ordered 9th
division, who has suffered the most casualties during the recent battle, to
round up the Austrians and escort them to Munich.
10th
division would spend the day regrouping and resupplying at Rohrbach, and
prepare to march south should that prove necessary.
